Rent, Mortgage and Utility Assistance for Flagler County ResidentsOctober 7, 2020
Flagler Cares, in conjunction with the Flagler County Board of County Commissioners, is announcing the availability of assistance through Coronavirus Relief Funds from the Florida Housing Finance Corporation. The County of Flagler has received a distribution of $440,765 (including $345,560 for City of Palm Coast) and will receive a second distribution after October 15, 2020. This assistance is intended to prevent evictions and foreclosures for Flagler County residents that may result from hardships experienced due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Assistance provided can include current and overdue rent payments, current and overdue mortgage payments, and overdue utility payments (electric, water, and gas). Households which are approved to receive mortgage assistance will also receive foreclosure counseling. Households currently experiencing homelessness can qualify for housing reentry assistance. Households with ONLY past due utilities must have received a shut off notice to be assisted.
Applications will be accepted starting October7, 2020 and the application period will end December 1, 2020 or when all funds are expended, whichever occurs first. Residents can apply by visiting www.flaglercares.org to begin the online application process or view instructions for paper applications.
