VA To Resume Patient Billing

Subject: Patient Billing is Resuming Soon
We are reaching out to let you know that the VA will soon resume collection of health care costs and copays incurred from April 6 through December 31, 2020. Collection was temporarily delayed in order to lessen the COVID-19 financial impacts on Veterans. If you owe copays to the VA, this week you may receive a letter from the VA in January informing you about this change, how much you and options for payment.
We want you to know that we understand that this information may cause additional stress and hardship, but there are debt relief options available, such as setting up smaller monthly payments. You may also reach out to your James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital social worker for assistance.
It has been a challenging year but you are not alone – your James A. Haley health care team is here to help you.
